You may wonder when you can go back to normal activities after Lasik. This question is common. Here are a few guidelines to give you an idea of what to expect. Of course, every situation is different, and your eye care professional can help you discover the best timeline for your individual needs.

Applying makeup

You should wait at least seven days before you attempt to use makeup after your eye treatment. Lasik after care instructions you can expect from us include getting rid of your old makeup and purchasing new. Old materials can harbor bacteria.

Getting in the shower

Bathing is acceptable after one day if you avoid soap in the eyes.

Daily exercise

Light workouts for at least two weeks to avoid sweat getting in the eyes.

Recreational water use

At least two weeks. Do not rub your eyes.

Resuming driving

One or two days. Use a driver for your procedure and when returning for your post-op check.

Using computer screens

Short periods after the first day. Use eye drops for regular computer use.

Working after Lasik
