We offer premier quality LASIK at $999 per eye for traditional LASIK

With traditional LASIK, Dr Columbus uses the Nidek EC-5000 excimer laser. With its patented scanning slit laser beam technology, over 95% of patients obtain 20/20 vision. Scanning slit lasers have higher accuracy then older broadbeam VISX lasers, thus making second treatments less then 2-5%. We have performed thousands of traditional LASIK treatments with very satisfied patients with excellent outcomes.

We also perform wavefront optimized LASIK at $1649 per eye. Using the Allegretto Wavelight laser, there are three advantages of Wavefront Optimized LASIK over conventional LASIK:

  1. Better outcomes with flying spot technology: Over 95% of patients achieve 20/20 vision & 75% obtain 20/15 better than perfect vision. The reason for better outcomes is the Allegretto’s usage of ‘flying spot” laser beam technology, the most advanced laser treatment ever. With flying spot, the laser reshapes ones eye to a new curve with more precision than older generation lasers. Many patients describe their vision as “high definition vision” & very satisfied with their results.2. Less need for second treatments: With flying spot technology, tissue reshaping is extremely accurate when used with its patented eye tracker. This means one is less likely to need a second treatment or enhancement. Our enhancement rate is less than 1-2% with the Allegretto Wavelight excimer laser flying spot technology.

    3. Better night vision with less glare or halo side effects: With a wavefront optimized treatment, the natural curvature of the cornea is better preserved versus older generation lasers which disrupted the natural curve of the cornea. This more natural prolate cornea curvature with the Allegretto Wavelight laser, is achieved by adding peripheral laser spots as well as centrally whereas older generation excimer lasers like VISX do not treat the periphery. With the periphreal treatment, one is less likely to get glare or halo at night as a side effect, reducing the incidence to be extremely low at 2-5%.

Lastly, only at Columbus Laser Vision, we offer the most advanced laser technology called Custom Wavefront Optimized LASIK at $1649 per eye. We are the ONLY and FIRST laser centerin Philadelphia performing Custom Wavelight Optimized LASIK with the Allegretto wavelight laser. In additional to the wavefront optimized advantages mentioned above, it also takes a wavescan picture of the eye to customize the procedure to ones individualized eye. The wavescan does a mapping of ones cornea to make the treatment specific & unique to one’s eye shape. Because of this, patients obtain sharper visions than conventional treatments. Over 75% obtain 20/15 better than perfect vision with this technology.

The wavescan also treats ones cornea for higher order aberrations that may cause glare or halo with the laser reshaping of the cornea. With Custom Wavefront Optimized treatments available, Columbus Laser Vision is the leading LASIK center with the latest generation of laser technologies.
