Glare or Halo is a side effect cause symptoms of halos and starbursts as well as ghosting of lights at night. With the advent of laser technologies Dr. Columbus uses in his Philadelphia PA office he has been through the history off all machines that perform laser vision correction for all his Philadelphia PA patients. Dr. Columbus initially offered the Nidek laser for his Philadelphia patients at his Philadelphia PA office in 1996. There here performed THOUSANDS of traditional LASIK on most of his Philadelphia PA patients. Traditional lasers was the newest technology doctor Columbus offered to his Philadelphia PA patients as the standard of care in his practice in Philadelphia. Most of his Philadelphia PA patients obtained beast 20/20 vision. Traditional also had less glare as a side effect versus older broadbeam lasers Dr. Columbus used in his training. The Traditional NIDEK laser uses a patented laser beam profile creating smoother contour changes resulting in less glare as a side effect in most of his Philadelphia PA patients. With the evolution of lasers came custom laser in the early 2000 years. It works by taking a picture of our Philadelphia PA patients to get measurements of their prescription and also uses an abberometer that detects glare points that may act up during the reshaping of the cornea which could cause glare in some of our Philadelphia PA patients. Also our custom treatments get a little sharper vision and also a little less glare as the glare points are corrected with custom where the traditional does not do this for our Philadelphia PA patients LASIK procedure. the latest technology Dr. Columbus uses in in his Philadelphia office for most of his Philadelphia PA patients is the wavefront Wavelight laser with its flying spot technology. The laser treatments are 50% faster than older technology resulting in crisper visions with most of our patients obtaining 20/15 visions! Also the flying spot laser puts laser in the peripheral area of the laser to flatten the peripheral upslope of the cornea which is thought to cause gale with older technologies for our Philadelphia PA patients. This peripheral means a significant reduction in glare vs traditional as well as custom treatments. Our Philadelphia PA patients also describe better quality night vision vs their pre LASIK vision with glasses or contacts. The wavefont can also improve glare in some of our Philadelphia PA patients who have pre-existing before surgery. Such Philadelphia PA patients say with the significant reduction in glare the feel safer driving the Philadelphia PA turnpike and other major interstates in Philadelphia where there are a lot of street and car lights that are no longer as bothersome as before surgery.
if you are from the Philadelphia office and discuss with Dr. Columbus about what laser technology is best suited for your LASIK procedure, feel free to call our office at 1-866-600-3937 or apply online. Its that SIMPLE!
